At Golden Acorns, safeguarding is woven into everything we do. Just like the safe hygge approach spaces that inspire our settings, we believe children grow best when they feel secure, nurtured, and surrounded by trusted adults who know them well.
Our team is committed to creating an environment where every child can explore freely, build confidence, and develop strong relationships — all within a safe and carefully supervised space.
Children thrive when they feel seen and understood. Our practitioners build close, positive relationships so every child feels safe, valued, and listened to.
All team members receive regular safeguarding and child‑protection training. We stay alert to changes in behaviour, mood, or wellbeing and act quickly if concerns arise.
Any concern is recorded immediately and passed to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). We follow statutory guidance and work with external agencies when needed to keep children safe. We have DSLs in all settings.
Our settings are designed to feel warm and natural while remaining fully secure. We use controlled access, safe collection procedures, risk‑assessed activities, and vigilant supervision throughout the day throughout all our settings.
Every member of our team completes enhanced DBS checks, reference checks, and a thorough induction. Only suitable, trusted adults care for our children.
We work openly with parents and carers across our settings, sharing information appropriately and supporting families whenever safeguarding concerns arise. Keeping children safe is a shared responsibility, and we value strong communication.
Safeguarding is not just a policy — it’s a culture. At Golden Acorns, children are protected, respected, and supported every day. Their wellbeing is our highest priority, and we are proud to offer a setting where families can feel confident and reassured.
