
At Golden Acorns our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) Sam, plays a vital role in ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive—emotionally, socially, and developmentally. Rooted in our nature-inspired and nurturing philosophy, Sam champions inclusive practice and early intervention, working closely with families, staff, and external professionals.
• Early Identification & Support
Observing children’s development and identifying emerging needs, ensuring timely and appropriate support strategies are in place.
• Individual Planning & Review
Coordinating and reviewing Individual Support Plans (ISPs), ensuring they reflect each child’s unique strengths and challenges.
• Staff Guidance & Training
Supporting practitioners with strategies for inclusive practice, differentiation, and behaviour support, while promoting a culture of empathy and understanding.
• Family Partnership
Building trusting relationships with families, offering guidance, reassurance, and signposting to external services when needed.
• Liaison with External Agencies
Acting as the key point of contact for speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and local authority SEND teams.
• Compliance & Documentation
Ensuring all SEND documentation is up-to-date, confidential, and aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and SEND Code of Practice. Each child is valued and respected.
